How is Fortinet software licensed?: Fortinet uses a hardware + subscription model. Hardware appliances are purchased outright; FortiGuard security services (antivirus, IPS, web filter, etc.) are annual subscriptions. Virtual and cloud-delivered products are available as BYOL or pay-as-you-go.
What is included in FortiGuard subscription bundles?: FortiGuard bundles combine multiple security services at a reduced price. The Elite bundle includes IPS, antivirus, web filtering, DNS security, antispam, anti-botnet, and inline sandbox — all updated in real time from FortiGuard Labs.
Are volume discounts available?: Yes. Fortinet offers significant volume discounts for large deployments, multi-year contracts, and enterprise agreements. Partner pricing through Fortinet's reseller channel often provides additional discounts on top of standard pricing.
